Complete access to the backpack’s main compartment is provided by a front-facing zippered panel with a 180° downward opening. Along the inside of the front panel that faces the main compartment are two zippered organizer pockets for portable batteries, memory cards, hard drives, or other small electronics. The outside of the front panel also unzips with a 180° downward opening to reveal multiple pockets for a 15″ laptop, a 10″ tablet computer, and a graphics tablet, as well as their cords and power adapters. Positioned above the backpack’s base, the laptop, tablet computer, and graphics tablet pockets help minimize the effect of any bumps or shocks upon their contents.
A zippered stash pocket on the outside of the front panel is included for items that need to be accessed quickly and conveniently, such as a smartphone, pens, a notebook, or a map. Below that pocket, dual compression straps with convenient side-release buckles allow a tripod, monopod, trekking pole, or folded apparel to be fastened against the Pro Trekker BP 450 AW II, which also includes a removable cup to support the base of a larger tripod or monopod strapped along the front of the backpack. During use, a large, zippered side pocket along the wearer’s left can accommodate a water bottle or other similarly-sized item, while a side handle is positioned on the wearer’s right.
The Pro Trekker BP 450 AW II can be carried using its built-in haul handle, the side handle, or by its adjustable shoulder straps. When traveling over difficult or uneven terrain, the backpack’s waist belt transfers weight to the hips for additional comfort, while a built-in sternum strap buckles the shoulder straps together, further limiting unintentional shifting around the wearer. To help ensure that the Pro Trekker BP 450 AW II meets the carry-on requirements for most international and US airlines, the waist belt is detachable while the shoulder straps can be stowed behind the backpack’s rear panel.
Featuring durable polyester and nylon construction, the Pro Trekker BP 450 AW II is built to be weather resistant and includes a seam-sealed cover for use under heavy rain. When the rain cover is not in use, attachment webbings along the Pro Trekker BP 450 AW II’s sides and on the face of its front panel allow for pouches that use the Lowepro SlipLock Attachment System to connect to the backpack’s surface.
