Description

With its native Leica L lens mount and customisable side plates, the Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera transforms the digital film innovations of the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera 6K into a box-style cinema camera. Rich colours, precise skin tones, and a broad 13-stop dynamic range are captured using a full-frame 6K sensor, which has an extended 36 x 24mm sensor. Capture Blackmagic RAW and H.265 proxy files to the cloud, or use Ethernet or mobile 4G/5G technology to stream straight to your preferred social media network. Among other configurable resolutions, the PYXIS can record up to 6K Open Gate 3:2 video at 36 frames per second or 6K Anamorphic 6:5 video at 60 frames per second.

Large-Format Digital Film Sensor

Larger than a Super35 sensor by three times, the PYXIS has a 24 x 36mm full-frame sensor with native resolution of 6048 x 4032. This gives you the ability to capture a really cinematic appearance by using anamorphic lenses or shooting with a shallow depth of focus without cropping. In all lighting circumstances, low-noise picture is guaranteed by a 13-stop dynamic range and dual-native ISO up to 25,600. Shoot at 120 fps windowed or up to 36 fps at full sensor resolution.

Flexible Film Formats

The big sensor allows you to work in a range of film formats and aspect ratios without compromising quality. When the sensor is fully extended, you can obtain Open Gate 3:2 images, which make post-production framing simpler. Additionally, working in real 6:5 anamorphic eliminates the need to crop for widescreen cinematography. To get a closer look at your photo, use a Super35-sized window.

Multiple Resolutions and Frame Rates

Shoot in standard video resolutions and frame rates from HD to 6K or still images at 24.6 MP using the PYXIS. For higher frame rates, you can window the center and shoot up to 100 fps at 212 x 1184 Super 16. Other options include 6K Open Gate 3:2 at 36 fps, 4832 x 4032 anamorphic at 24 fps, and 1920 x 1080 at 120 fps, among other resolutions.
